Arrested parents of the prime accused Mizan in Savar schoolgirl murder case have been placed on a two-day remand for questioning by a court.
After the hearing for remand on Friday afternoon, Senior Judicial Magistrate Fairuz Tasnim ordered to send the accused parents to a tywo-day remand.
The remanded parents are Abdur Rahman and Nazmun Nahar Siddiqa.
Producing the accused at the court, invsetigation officer of the case sub-inspector Nirmol Chandra Ghosh pleaded to the judge to place them on a seven-day remand.
Lawyers of the accused pleaded for bail cancelling the remand, while the lawyers on behalf of the state opposed the bail.
Earlier at night on Thursday, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-4 arrested both Abdur Rahman and Nazmun Nahar Siddiqa from their residence at Savar Bank Colony.
With them, three persons have so far been arrested.
RAB-4 CPC-2's Additional SP and Company Commander Jamir Uddin Ahmed said the parents of the prime accsed were arrested after conducting a raid. However, their son prime accused Mizan has still been absconding.
Earlier police in a drive arrested a suspect in schoolgirl Nila Roy murder case after raiding at Aricha in Manikganj Wednesday morning.
The arrested was Selim Palwan, 28, of Savar municipality area.
Nila Roy, a 14-year-old Class X student of a school in Savar, succumbed to her injuries in a hospital two hours after Mizanur Rahman, 20, allegedly stabbed her at night on September 21 last.
Later, her father Narayan Roy filed a murder case against three persons implicating Mizan as the prime accued. Since the filing of the case, law enforcers have been trying to arrest the absconded accused.
Nila's elder brother said that Mizan, an HSC examinee, had been stalking his sister on her way to and from the school for about two years.
Nila was hacked to death allegedly by Mizan after his love proposal was rejected by the girl.
